Jessica Hamblen, PhD

Dr. Jessica Hamblen is the lead investigator in the Services and Treatment Research Study, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Postdisaster Distress. She received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is Deputy Director for Education at the National Center for PTSD and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School.

Her interest is in developing, disseminating, and evaluating cognitive behavioral treatments for PTSD and related conditions. Dr. Hamblen presents regularly at national conferences and provides trainings across the country. She was principal author of a manualized treatment called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Postdisaster distress that was used by Project Liberty as part of their enhanced services initiative after 9/11 and Florida following the hurricanes of 2004. Dr. Hamblen recently completed a pilot study of the intervention with evacuees of Hurricane Katrina living in Baton Rouge, LA.

She serves on the mental health executive committee for VA's MyHealtheVet, a website to manage veterans health benefits and services.
