About NCDMHR

George Anderson, PhD

Dr. George Anderson provides neurobiological analysis and consultation to the NCDMHR. He received a PhD in analytical chemistry from McGill University of Montreal, Canada.

He is a Research Scientist in the Child Study Center and the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. He directs a Core Resource Laboratory of the NIH-funded Yale Inter-Disciplinary Research Consortium on Stress, Self-Control and Addiction.

Dr. Anderson's area of research interest includes the genetics and neurobiology of childhood neuropsychiatric disorders including autism, Tourette syndrome and ADHD, as well as adult depression, PTSD and addiction. He has special interests in stress response systems and serotonin neurochemistry and psychopharmacology.

He serves on the scientific advisory board of Autism Speaks and on the editorial board of Autism Research and the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
